Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.

0:11

Abundant, pure, blessed praise.

0:16

He completed the religion for us and perfected the blessing on us.

0:19

He approved Islam as religion for us.

0:22

And I bear witness there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner.

0:26

He has not imposed on us in religion.

0:28

Any hardship.

0:30

And He intended ease for us and did not intend hardship for us.

0:33

And I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.

0:39

He was sent with the upright and tolerant faith.

0:42

And if given a choice of two matters he chose the easier unless it was sinful.

0:48

ﷺ.

0:51

And upon his family and his noble, blessed Companions.

0:56

And upon his wives, the Mothers of the Believers, and the Followers.

1:00

And those who followed them with excellence until Judgment Day. To proceed.

1:07

Indeed, discussing applications of fiqh of ease in fatwas for women visitors.

1:15

requires mentioning the concept.

1:18

The concept of facilitation and stating its criterion.

1:22

Then moving on to these applications.

1:27

So I will mention the concept and the criterion briefly.

1:31

The concept of facilitation, and of ease, is that the servant complies.

1:39

Commands and prohibitions without hardship beyond the ordinary.

1:51

And its criterion is the Sharia, not whim.

1:57

For the Sharia came to move people from self-will to God's will in practice.

2:08

the pleasure of their Lord ﷻ.

2:11

Accordingly, the mufti strives to realize this great objective.

2:18

Ease in the Sharia is of two kinds.

2:22

An inherent ease.

2:26

It encompasses the whole Sharia in its foundations and branches.

2:33

Allah ﷻ said, "He has not placed upon you in the religion any hardship."

2:37

And He said, "Allah intends ease for you."

2:39

"He does not intend hardship for you."

2:42

And the Prophet ﷺ said: "This religion is easy."

2:47

And the second type.

2:49

It is incidental, partial ease that comes to relieve undue hardship.

2:58

And the applications fall under both types together.

3:02

And modern analogues are measured against both.

3:08

And I focused these applications on women visitors to the Prophet's Mosque.

3:19

Without discussing ease in the rulings of Hajj and Umrah.

3:25

That has its own subject; it has been discussed.

3:28

It is a vast sea with many issues.

3:32

I will discuss these applications through their main points and principles.

3:38

so they become clear.

3:41

The proof for these applications is clear, and their meaning is evident.

3:49

The first of these principles is that ease.

3:54

in religion's roots and branches alike.

3:59

And very often.

4:01

When ease is discussed, the mind often turns to religion's branches

4:09

while overlooking the ease in the Sharia's foundations.

4:14

Indeed, tawhid and following the Sunnah are ease, comfort, and peace.

4:22

And the fatwas are based

4:26

upon the Book of Allah ﷻ and the Sunnah of His Prophet ﷺ.

4:33

according to the understanding of the righteous predecessors.

4:37

This noble meaning is instilled.

4:41

Then comfort, ease, and tranquility are attained.

4:46

And this, praise be to Allah,

4:49

This comes through the blessed efforts of our brothers.

4:53

The muftis and guides in this noble Prophet's Mosque and al-Masjid al-Haram.

5:02

The opposite of that lies in shirk and bid'ah.

5:07

And leaving the Prophet's ﷺ guidance is hardship and division.

5:14

And disagreement and no peace of mind.

5:19

And the fatwas of the people of whims and innovations.

5:22

lead people to extreme hardship and difficulty, away from Allah ﷻ.

5:31

The second point.

5:34

That ease applies to men and women.

5:38

However, for women, ease is even greater and more abundant.

5:48

in consideration of her condition.

5:51

And this is among the beauties of the radiant Sharia.

5:54

for it considered a woman's condition and granted her ease.

6:00

more so than for men. For example:

6:05

No personal jihad is required of them, nor Jumu'ah nor jama'ah.

6:12

And among the applications of this ease in this mosque and other mosques

6:21

What is best for a woman is to pray in her home.

6:28

And she must not be barred from the houses of Allah.

6:32

The Prophet ﷺ said, as Abu Dawud reported.

6:37

Do not prevent Allah's maidservants from Allah's mosques.

6:40

But let them go out without perfume, i.e. not perfumed.

6:48

And in another narration: "Do not prevent women from the mosques."

6:54

"Do not prevent women from mosques. Their homes are better for them."

6:59

And this is part of that ease.

7:02

As stated by our Prophet ﷺ, this is clear in two ways.

7:10

The first aspect.

7:12

That her prayer in her home is better for her.

7:17

And in this is ease for her.

7:24

And protection and safeguarding for her.

7:30

And if.

7:31

The second aspect of ease is that if she wishes to go to the mosque.

7:38

then her guardian should not prevent her.

7:42

For the Prophet ﷺ said, Do not bar Allah's women from His mosques.

7:47

So it fulfills this desire for her.

7:52

subject to its condition: that she go out unadorned.

7:58

For his ﷺ saying: "But let them go out unperfumed."

8:04

And another facilitation is that the reward.

8:09

She receives it while she is at home.

8:16

Even this multiplied reward.

8:19

is granted to her many times over.

8:22

whenever she wished to pray in the Prophet's Mosque—and then.

8:27

Then she left that and prayed at home.

8:30

And he was asked.

8:33

the eminent Shaykh 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn Baz RH, about prayer.

8:38

Should the optional prayer be prayed in the Prophet's Mosque or at home?

8:45

He replied that the texts are general in scope.

8:49

So praying at home is better.

8:52

And the texts on that concur.

8:55

He also said that one receives the multiplied reward.

9:02

If he prays it in his house, in his dwelling.

9:06

Along with the added reward for following the Sunnah.

9:09

And we also say this applies to the woman too, by Allah's help ﷻ.

9:15

And this is from Allah's favor upon her.

9:18

And an aspect of ease is that prescribed gathering in worship helps.

9:27

obedience, removing the hardship of worship or lessening it.

9:33

For worship must entail some degree of hardship.

9:37

And prescribed gathering in worship helps lessen that.

9:42

Therefore Allah ﷻ prescribed congregational prayer.

9:47

And prescribed fasting and prescribed.

9:49

The Hajj. And part of that, Allah knows best.

9:52

is that she is not prevented from coming.

9:55

to the mosque to ease worship for her.

10:00

Many women become energized when, say, they pray Taraweeh with women.

10:09

besides the good in attending the mosque and Muslims' supplication.

10:14

And the Prophet ﷺ stated this clearly.

10:18

in instructing women to go out for the prayer.

10:22

Eid—even Umm 'Atiyyah said.

10:26

He even instructed young women, secluded women, and menstruating women.

10:30

He ordered menstruating women to avoid the prayer area.

10:33

And he ﷺ said, “Let them witness good and the Muslims' supplication.”

10:39

The good and the Muslims' supplication.

10:41

This confirms a woman's attendance at these beneficial gatherings.

10:48

There is much good in it.

10:50

That includes learning the Qur'an and teaching it.

10:54

and reading it and teaching its recitation in this blessed mosque.

11:01

And among matters related to this aspect.

11:05

Even if a menstruating woman is barred from entering the mosque.

11:09

There is no harm in her being in its courtyard. For this reason.

11:14

This courtyard surrounding the Prophet's Mosque.

11:19

Apparently, it does not have the ruling of the mosque.

11:26

Even if it were enclosed by this wall.

11:29

This wall was not built to incorporate this courtyard into the mosque. Therefore.

11:36

I'tikaf is not observed there; I'tikaf there is not valid.

11:42

Thus.

11:43

If she comes and it is easy for her to hear

11:46

the sermons and lessons, that is a great good.

11:54

Praise and favor be to Allah.

11:57

And this specifically indicates the courtyard is not part of the mosque.

12:02

Ibn Battah narrated with a chain from Aishah (RA), Abu Bakr (RA)'s daughter:

12:10

We were in i'tikaf, and when we menstruated, the Prophet ﷺ ordered.

12:19

leave the mosque.

12:21

And have tents pitched for them in the courtyard until they became pure.

12:30

And among the features of ease.

12:33

Please conclude, Shaykh.

12:37

I'll conclude. Another aspect of facilitation.

12:41

This includes respecting local customs.

12:45

Especially regarding clothing.

12:49

Women's clothing differs from one country to another.

12:55

And fatwa authorities in these lands don't require women to wear.

12:59

A specific color or a specific style.

13:02

What matters is that the clothing conforms to Sharia guidelines.

13:11

Another facilitation is easing access to fatwa.

13:15

by obtaining fatwa from qualified sisters.

13:20

in the women's areas, and this is available to them.

13:24

With praise to Allah ﷻ and His tawfiq.

13:27

And this is something for which

13:29

this blessed Presidency is thanked.

13:31

May Allah reward everyone for listening attentively.

13:34

And thank you, Your Excellency, Mr. President. May Allah bless you.
