Transcript 674 lines
Peace be upon you,\nand Allah ﷻ's mercy and blessings.
All praise is due to Allah ﷻ. We praise Him, seek His aid and forgiveness.
We seek refuge in Allah ﷻ\nfrom the evil within us.
And from our evil deeds.\nWhom Allah ﷻ guides, none can mislead.
And whomsoever He leaves astray,\nnone can guide.
I bear witness there is no god but\nAllah alone.
He has no partner, and Muhammad ﷺ is\nHis servant and Messenger.
O believers, fear Allah ﷻ as He should be feared, and do not die except as Muslims.
O mankind, fear your Lord.
He created you from a single soul,\nand from it created its mate.
From them He spread many men\nand women.
And fear Allah ﷻ.
You appeal to one another in His name,\nand honor the ties of kinship.
Allah ﷻ is ever Watchful over you.
O believers, fear Allah ﷻ\nand speak rightly.
He will amend your deeds\nand forgive your sins.
Whoever obeys Allah ﷻ and His Messenger\nhas attained a great triumph.
To proceed:
The best speech\nis the Book of Allah ﷻ.
The best guidance\nis the guidance of Muhammad ﷺ.
The worst matters\nare newly introduced ones.
Every new matter is an innovation.
Every innovation is misguidance,\nand every misguidance is in the Fire.
Now then, dear brothers and sisters.
I praise Allah ﷻ before you\nfor Islam and faith.
I praise Allah ﷻ before you\nfor the Sunnah and the Quran.
I praise Allah ﷻ before you for fasting\nand night prayer in Ramadan.
Fasting Ramadan brings\nforgiveness for past sins.
It is for the one who does it in faith\nand seeks reward.
Night prayer in Ramadan brings\nforgiveness for past sins.
It is for the one who does it in faith\nand seeks reward.
Prayer on Laylat al-Qadr brings\nforgiveness for past sins.
It is for the one who does it in faith.
It is for the one who seeks reward.
O servants of Allah ﷻ,\nyour month is brief.
So fast it and safeguard it.
Adorn it with the finest character.
Beautify it with Quran recitation.
so that you may be guided.
Esteemed people.
Our Lord, exalted is He,\ncreated man from clay.
He made his offspring from an extract\nof lowly water.
He appointed for him two days.
One is this worldly life,\nthe abode of toil and labor.
The other is a day of recompense.
In it there is rest or torment. We seek refuge in Allah ﷻ from torment.
Allah ﷻ warned His servants of that Day and commanded them to fear it.
They are toiling toward their Lord and will meet Him.
They will be called to account for what they sent ahead.
Allah ﷻ said, "Fear a Day when you will be returned to Allah ﷻ."
"Then every soul will be paid in full for what it earned; none will be wronged."
Allah ﷻ also said, "Fear a Day when no soul can avail another at all."
"No intercession from it will be accepted, no ransom taken, and no help given."
What, then, is that Day, O noble ones?
It is the Day Allah ﷻ warned us of\nand told us to fear it and beware of it.
It is a Day when all people\nwill be gathered.
From Adam (AS)\nto the last human on earth.
They will rise from their graves\nat one and the same time.
Bewildered and distressed,\nlike scattered moths.
They will be gathered on the Plain,\nbarefoot.
Naked and uncircumcised,\nmen and women alike.
Men will not look at women,\nnor women at men.
The matter will be far too grave\nfor that.
Our Lord, exalted is He, says
Allah ﷻ. There is no god but Him.
He will surely gather you\nfor the Day of Resurrection.
There is no doubt about it.
Who is more truthful than Allah ﷻ\nin speech?
Allah ﷻ also says:
In that is a sign for whoever fears\nthe punishment of the Hereafter.
It is a Day for which people are gathered,\na Day all will witness.
We delay it only\nfor a numbered term.
Allah ﷻ also says:
Say: the former and the latter\nwill surely be gathered.
At the appointed time\nof a known day.
It is, O servants of Allah ﷻ,\na day of dreadful terrors and wonders.
O people, fear your Lord.\nThe quake of the Hour is immense.
When you see it.
Every nursing mother will forget\nthe child she nursed.
Every pregnant woman\nwill miscarry.
and you will see people as if drunk, though they are not drunk
but the punishment of Allah ﷻ is severe.
It is a tremendous day: the day the Trumpet will be blown
and We will gather the criminals that day blue-eyed, whispering among themselves
"You remained only ten days."
We know best what they say.
The wisest among them says: You remained only a day.
They ask you about the mountains.
Say, "My Lord will blow them away completely, leaving them a level plain.
You will see in it no dip and no rise."
That day, they will follow the Caller, with no turning away from him.
Voices will be humbled.
Before the Merciful, you will hear only a whisper.
That day, no intercession will help.
Only one the Merciful permits and whose word He approves.
He knows what is before them and what is behind them.
But they cannot encompass Him in knowledge.
Faces will be humbled before the Ever-Living, the Sustainer
and ruined is the one who bears injustice.
Whoever does righteous deeds in faith will fear neither injustice nor loss.
It is, O servants of Allah ﷻ, the Day of Decision.
Indeed, the Day of Decision is an appointed time.
The day the Trumpet is blown, you will come forth in multitudes.
And the sky is opened, becoming gates.
And the mountains are moved away, becoming a mirage.
When the earth is shaken with its mighty quake.
The earth brings out its burdens.
Man will say in alarm.
What is wrong with it?
Then comes the Striking Calamity.
It strikes hard.
It strikes human ears and hearts.
It brings the greatest terror.
The Calamity! What is the Calamity?
And what will make you know what the Calamity is?
The Day people are like scattered moths, and the mountains like fluffed wool.
It is, O servants of Allah ﷻ, the Day of Regret, when wrongdoers lose.
And how immense that regret is.
Warn them of the Day of Regret.
When the matter is decided, while they are heedless and unbelieving.
Warn them of the Imminent Day, when hearts choke in throats.
The wrongdoers will have no close friend and no intercessor to be obeyed.
He knows the furtive glance of the eyes and what the hearts conceal.
Abu Hurayrah (RA) narrated that Allah's Messenger ﷺ relayed words from Allah ﷻ.
"On the Day of Resurrection, O son of Adam
I was sick and you did not visit Me."
He said, "My Lord, how could I visit You when You are the Lord of the worlds?"
He said, 'Did you not know?'
'My servant so-and-so was ill, and you did not visit him.'
'Had you visited him, you would have found Me with him.'
"Son of Adam, I asked you for food, but you did not feed Me."
He said, "My Lord, how could I feed You when You are the Lord of the worlds?"
He said, 'Did you not know?'
'My servant so-and-so asked for food, and you did not feed him.'
'Had you fed him, you would have found that with Me.'
"Son of Adam, I asked you for water, but you did not give Me a drink."
He said, "Lord, how can I give You drink? How, when You're the Lord of the worlds?"
He said: "My slave so-and-so asked you for drink, and you gave him none."
"Had you given him drink, you would've found that with Me."
Muslim narrated it in Sahih.
The hadith teaches.
O servants of Allah, this is what happens on Judgment Day.
One will regret missed good.
He will see the blessings that passed him by.
He has lost a great reward.
It is a great day, O servants of Allah ﷻ.
The pious will be gathered in utmost honor.
The losers will be gathered in utter humiliation.
We gather the pious to the Merciful as guests.
And drive the sinners to Hell, thirsty.
We will gather them on Judgment Day on their faces, blind, mute, and deaf.
Their abode is Hell. Whenever it subsides, We increase its blaze for them.
Whoever turns from My reminder
will live in hardship and be raised blind on Judgment Day.
He will say, "My Lord, why have You raised me blind when I could see?"
He will say, "My signs reached you; you forgot them. So today you are forgotten."
That day, wealth and children do not help; only one who comes with a sound heart.
Allah ﷻ says, "This is the Day the truthful benefit from their truth."
"They will have gardens beneath which rivers flow, where they abide forever."
"Allah ﷻ is pleased with them, and they with Him. That is the great triumph."
And our Lord, exalted is He, says the following.
The Day when wealth and sons do not avail.
Except one who comes to Allah ﷻ with a sound heart.
It is, O servants of Allah ﷻ, the Day when deeds are seen and requited.
And We have bound every person's record to his neck.
On the Day of Resurrection, We will bring forth a book spread open.
Read your book. Today you are enough to take account of yourself.
It is a Day when a person will lose nothing of his deeds.
Whatever good he did, he will find it that Day
and whatever evil he did, he will find it that Day.
As for the disbeliever, on the Day of Resurrection he will find nothing but evil
because he did no good.
His deeds lacked sincerity to Allah ﷻ.
They also failed to follow His Messenger, Muhammad ﷺ.
Thus his deeds on the Day of Resurrection will be scattered dust
and on the Day of Resurrection he will find before him nothing but evil.
As for the believer, if he does good, he will not lose it.
He will find it with Allah ﷻ greater and more abundant than what he did.
And if he did evil, our Merciful Lord opened doors for sins to be expiated.
Perhaps his sins are expiated while he is in this world.
Or he may come with evil, yet Allah ﷻ forgives him and has mercy on him.
If He wills, He punishes him for what he sent forth.
A person will find his deeds and lose nothing of them.
The Day every soul will find whatever good it did laid before it.
It will also find the evil it did.
Then it will wish a great distance lay between it and that evil.
And Allah ﷻ warns you of Himself, and Allah ﷻ is kind to His servants.
That Day people will depart, scattered, to be shown their deeds.
Whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it.
And whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it.
It is a Day of questioning.
Those who were sent to will be asked.
And the messengers will be asked too.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: "Noah (AS) will be called on that Day."
"He will say, 'At Your service and at Your pleasure, my Lord.'"
"Did you convey it?"
"Yes, my Lord."
Then his people will be asked, "Was the message conveyed to you?"
"No warner came to us."
Then Noah (AS) will be asked, "Who will testify for you?"
"Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his nation."
"Then you will testify he conveyed it, and the Messenger will witness over you."
That is Allah's ﷻ saying: "We made you a just nation to witness over mankind."
"And the Messenger will be a witness over you." 'Middle' means just.
Reported by Al-Bukhari in Sahih.
Abu Hurayrah (RA) narrated that Jesus (AS) will make his case to Allah ﷻ.
That is when Allah says to Jesus, son of Mary:
“Did you tell people to take me and my mother as two gods besides Allah ﷻ?”
The Prophet ﷺ said he will reply:
“Glory be to You! It is not for me to say what I have no right to say.”
Thus Allah taught him his reply.
O servants of Allah ﷻ, this is the Day of Weighing.
On it, deeds, people, and records are weighed.
And the weighing that Day is true.
Those whose scales are heavy are the successful.
Those whose scales are light have lost themselves by wronging Our signs.
Those whose scales are heavy will live a pleasant life.
But the one whose scales are light faces ruin.
His refuge will be the abyss. And what can make you know what it is?
Whoever's scales are heavy that Day will live a life of contentment.
It will please him, and he will be pleased with the reward from Allah ﷻ.
But those whose scales are light— their bad deeds outweigh their good ones.
Allah forbid, he will plunge into the Fire.
It will be his refuge; he will resort to it, resort to it.
The Fire will be his final abode.
And what can make you know what the Fire is?
It is a blazing Fire. Its boiling and heat are intense.
Its parts consume one another from the severity of the heat.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
A huge fat man will come that Day.
He will not weigh to Allah as much as a mosquito's wing.
He said, "Recite: 'We will assign them no weight on Judgment Day.'"
Reported by al-Bukhari. This shows people are weighed on that Day.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"A man from my nation will be called out before all creation on Judgment Day."
"Ninety-nine scrolls will be spread out for him, each as far as the eye can see."
"Then Allah ﷻ will ask, 'Do you deny any of this?'"
"He will say, 'No, my Lord.'"
"Then Allah ﷻ will ask, 'Did My recording angels wrong you?'"
He will say, 'No.' Then Allah ﷻ asks, 'Do you have any excuse or good deed?'
"The man, awed, will say, 'No.'"
Then Allah ﷻ will say, 'Yes, you have a good deed with Us.'
"Allah ﷻ will say, 'No wrong will be done to you today.'"
Then a card will be brought for him, bearing this testimony.
'I testify there is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is His servant and messenger.'
'My Lord...'
"What is this card against these records?"
Allah ﷻ says, 'You will not be wronged.'
The records are placed on one side. The card on the other outweighs them.
Narrated by Ibn Majah, authenticated by Al-Albani.
This shows that the records will be weighed on the Day of Resurrection.
It is a Day, O servants of Allah ﷻ.
People will be in different groups, with different reckonings and fates.
Some will enter Paradise with no reckoning or punishment.
Some the Almighty will draw near and cover them.
He will confront them with their sins until they confess, fearing doom.
Allah ﷻ says, 'I concealed them for you in the world, and today I forgive them.'
Others will have their reckoning scrutinized.
'Why did you do such-and-such?'
"Why did you do such-and-such?"
Whoever is questioned in the Reckoning is doomed and punished.
That is what Prophet Muhammad ﷺ told us.
Among the people are those who will be disgraced before all creation.
They will be called out before all creation as disbelievers and hypocrites.
And some sinful believers too: traitors, show-offs, fame-seekers, and image-makers.
And whoever had two wives and was not fair between them.
And a number of sinful believers will be disgraced before all creation.
On that Day, no soul will speak except by His permission.
Some will be wretched, and some blessed.
People are divided in their final fate.
The wretched will be in the Fire, where they will sigh and gasp.
'They will remain there as long as heaven and earth endure.'
'Except as your Lord wills.'
Your Lord does as He wills.
And as for those who are blessed, they will abide in Paradise forever.
'There they will remain as long as heaven and earth endure.'
'Except as your Lord wills— a gift unending.'
"On the Day when some faces shine, and others darken."
"As for those whose faces darken: did you disbelieve after faith?"
"Then taste the punishment for what you used to disbelieve."
"As for those whose faces shine, they will be forever in Allah ﷻ's mercy."
O servants of Allah ﷻ, it is a tremendous Day.
Paradise is brought near to its people, and Hell to its people.
"Paradise is brought near the righteous, and Hell laid bare for the astray."
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said.
'That Day, Hell will be brought.'
'With 70,000 reins, each pulled by 70,000 angels.'
'That Day, Hell will be brought.' 'With
70,000 reins, each pulled by 70,000 angels.'
And the Fire will speak that Day and mention some who deserve it.
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said.
"A neck from the Fire will emerge on Judgment Day.
It will have two seeing eyes and two hearing ears." 'And a speaking tongue.'
"It will say: I was charged with stubborn tyrants and idolaters."
"It was also charged with the image-makers."
Reported by al-Tirmidhi with a sound chain.
It is a day, O servants of Allah ﷻ, when the wretched forget all former bliss.
The blessed forget all former misery and trial.
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said.
Hell's most pampered person on earth is dipped in Fire.
He is asked: "Son of Adam, did you ever see any good?"
"Did you ever know any bliss?"
"No, by Allah ﷻ, my Lord," he says.
With one dip in the Fire, this man of Hell forgets all worldly bliss.
Then Paradise's most miserable person on earth is brought, dipped in Paradise.
He is then asked: "Son of Adam, did you ever see misery?"
"Did you ever go through hardship?"
"No, by Allah ﷻ, my Lord, I knew no misery or hardship," he says.
Reported by Muslim in Sahih Muslim.
Believing servant of Allah ﷻ, if trial or hardship befalls you here, beware.
Don't despair, lose hope, panic, or resent.
When you meet Allah ﷻ and enter Paradise, you'll forget pain and see great reward.
Jabir (RA) narrated these words of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
"On the Last Day, the afflicted will receive their reward.
Then those who lived in ease will wish their skins were cut with shears in life."
Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi and graded hasan by Al-Albani.
They are rewarded if they are patient and do not panic or resent their Lord.
On the Last Day, they will receive tremendous, abundant reward.
So much so that the people of ease will wish they'd faced life's worst trials.
It is, O servants of Allah, the Day of Calling.
"My people, I fear for you the Day of Calling."
"The Day they stand exposed, with nothing hidden from Allah ﷻ."
"To whom belongs the kingdom today?"
"To Allah ﷻ, the One, the All-Subduer."
Today every soul will be recompensed for what it earned. No injustice today.
Indeed, Allah ﷻ is swift in reckoning.
On the Day He will call to them, "Where are My partners you used to claim?"
On the Day He will call to them, "What answer did you give the messengers?"
The people of the Heights will call to men they recognize by their marks.
They will say, "All you amassed did not help you, nor your arrogance."
"Are these the ones you swore Allah ﷻ would never show mercy to?"
"Enter Paradise. No fear will be upon you, nor will you grieve."
Those in Paradise will call those in Hell, "We found our Lord's promise true."
"Did you find what your Lord promised true?"
They will say, "Yes." Then a herald will proclaim among them.
"Allah ﷻ curses those who block His way and twist it, denying the Hereafter."
Those in Hell call to those in Paradise, "Pour us water or what Allah ﷻ gave you."
They will say, "Allah has forbidden water and provision to the disbelievers."
They took their religion as amusement and play, deceived by worldly life.
So today We will forget them.
They forgot the meeting of this Day.
They also denied Our signs.
Imran ibn Husayn (RA) narrated.
We were traveling with Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Some companions moved fast, while others moved slow.
Then the Prophet ﷺ recited aloud these two verses.
"O people, fear your Lord.
"Indeed, the quake of the Hour is a mighty thing."
He continued until, "Allah's punishment is severe."
When they heard that, they spurred on their mounts.
They knew he was about to speak.
"Do you know what day that is?"
They said, "Allah ﷻ and His Messenger know best."
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, "That is the Day when Allah ﷻ will call out."
"O Adam (AS), send forth the people of the Fire."
He will say, "My Lord, what is the share for the Fire?"
He will say, "Out of every 1,000, 999 go to the Fire, and 1 to Paradise."
The people despaired.
Out of every 1,000, 1 would be in Paradise, and the rest in the Fire.
When they heard that, the people despaired so much that they did not even smile.
Allah ﷻ's Messenger ﷺ saw his Companions' state and said, "Work and rejoice."
By Him in Whose Hand is my soul.
You are with two creations that outnumber whatever they join.
One is Gog and Magog.
The other is the dead among humankind and the offspring of Iblis.
That eased some of what they felt.
The Prophet ﷺ said, "Work and rejoice."
By Him in Whose Hand is my soul.
Among people, you are like a mark on a camel's side.
Reported by Al-Tirmidhi and authenticated by Al-Albani.
It is, O servants of Allah, a day of immense testimony.
Allah ﷻ is witness enough.
He will raise them all and tell them what they did. Allah recorded it.
They forgot it, but Allah witnesses all.
And the noble recording guardian angels will testify.
And the limbs will testify: their tongues, hands, and feet for what they used to do.
The Prophet ﷺ said, "The servant will say, 'Lord, did You not shield me from wrong?'"
Allah ﷻ will say, "Yes."
He will say, "I accept no witness against myself except one from myself."
He'll say, "Today you suffice as witness, and the noble scribes as witnesses."
Then his mouth will be sealed.
"Speak," his limbs will be told, and they will speak of his deeds.
Then he is allowed to speak.
He says, "Away with you! Perish! It was for your sake that I argued."
Reported by Muslim in Sahih Muslim.
And our Lord, exalted is He, says: 'And the earth casts out its burdens.'
And man says, "What is wrong with it?" That Day it reports its news.
Because your Lord inspired it to do so.
On Judgment Day, the earth will report every evil and good on it.
Allah commanded it to testify, and it will bear witness to all.
Woe to you, O man, woe to you! How can you not fear that Day?
On it, Allah ﷻ, the angels, your limbs, and the earth all testify against you.
Glory be to Allah ﷻ!
How hard-hearted you are, O man!
How dare you sin against Allah ﷻ, especially in private?
Allah ﷻ sees you and hears you. He Himself will testify against you.
Before Allah ﷻ, your own limbs and the earth will testify against you.
Noble angels record what you do and say. They, too, will testify against you.
How hard hearts are!
By Allah ﷻ, had this reached a mountain, it would crack, but hearts are hard.
That day, O servants of Allah ﷻ, is the Day of questioning about blessings.
Then, on that Day, you will surely be asked about blessings.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
"The first blessing a servant will be asked about is this."
“Did We not make your body healthy and give you cool water to drink?”
Reported by al-Tirmidhi and authenticated by al-Albani.
Servant of Allah ﷻ, you enjoy His gifts. He gave you health and pure water.
Allah ﷻ gave you a good meal and whatever other blessings He willed.
On Judgment Day, you will be asked about these blessings.
"What did you do with them?"
Will you not fear Allah ﷻ for these blessings?
Will you not fear the day you return to Him?
The Prophet ﷺ said:
"No son of Adam's feet will move on Judgment Day until he is asked."
"He will be asked about five things:
his life and youth: how he spent them.
his wealth: how he earned and spent it.
and his knowledge: what he did with it.
The Prophet ﷺ also said:
"The first person to be judged on Resurrection Day is a martyr."
A martyr will be brought forward.
Allah ﷻ will remind him of His blessings, and he will acknowledge them.
He will say, "What did you do with them? What did you do with them?"
He will say, "I fought for You until I was martyred."
He will say, "You lie.
You only fought so it would be said, 'He is brave,' and it was said."
Then it will be ordered: Drag him on his face. Then cast him into the Fire.
Then a man who learned, taught, and recited the Quran is brought.
Allah ﷻ will remind him of His blessings, and he will acknowledge them.
He will say, "What did you do with them?"
He will say, "I acquired knowledge, taught it, and recited the Quran for Your sake."
He will say, "You lie. You sought learning so people would call you a scholar."
"You recited the Quran so people would call you a reciter—and they did."
Then it will be ordered: Drag him on his face into the Fire.
And a man made wealthy by Allah ﷻ is brought, shown favors, and admits them.
He will say, "What did you do with them?"
He will say, "I left no cause You love to spend on without giving for You."
He will say, "You lie. You did it to be called generous—and you were."
Then it will be ordered: Drag him on his face into the Fire.
Allah ﷻ will ask the servant about His blessings on Judgment Day.
The Prophet ﷺ said that Allah ﷻ will meet the servant and address him.
"Did I not honor you, make you chief, give you a wife, horses, and camels?"
"Did I not let you lead and rule?"
He will say, "Yes."
Then He will say, "Did you think you would meet Me?"
"Did you think you would meet Me?" He will say, "No."
Then He, exalted is He, will say, "I shall forget you as you forgot Me."
Then He will meet the second and say:
"Did I not honor you, make you chief, and give you a wife?"
"Did I not give you horses and camels and let you lead and rule?"
He will say, "Yes, my Lord."
"Did you think you would meet Me?" He will say, "No."
He will say, "I shall forget you as you forgot Me."
Then He will meet the third and say the same to him.
He will say, "My Lord, I believed in You and in Your Book."
"I believed in Your messengers. I prayed, fasted, and gave charity."
He will praise himself as much as he can.
Allah ﷻ will say, "Very well, then."
Then it will be said, "Now We bring Our witness against you."
He will think to himself:
"Who will testify against me?" Then his mouth will be sealed.
Then it will be said to his thigh, flesh, and bones, "Speak."
His own body will testify to what he did, leaving him no excuse.
That is the hypocrite. That is the one whom Allah ﷻ is angry with.
Narrated by Muslim in his Sahih.
Servants of Allah ﷻ, it is the Day when rights are repaid.
The Prophet ﷺ said, "Rights will be repaid on Judgment Day."
"Even the hornless sheep will have redress from the horned sheep."
The Prophet ﷺ said: "People will be gathered:
barefoot, naked, uncircumcised, with nothing."
They asked, "What does 'with nothing' mean?"
He said, "They will have nothing."
Then Allah ﷻ will call to them in a voice heard from far away as from near.
I am the King. I am the Judge.
No one bound for the Fire may enter it while one in Paradise owes him a right.
That right will be taken from him.
No one in Paradise may enter it until one in Hell gets his due from him.
Even a slap.
They asked: How, Messenger of Allah? We come naked and empty-handed?
He ﷺ replied, "With good deeds and bad deeds."
It was narrated from our mother Aisha (RA).
A man sat before the Prophet ﷺ. "Messenger of Allah, I have slaves."
"They lie, betray, and defy me. I curse and hit them. What am I to them?"
He ﷺ said, "Their betrayals, defiance, lies and your punishment are counted."
"If your punishment matched their sins, it balanced: not for you or against you."
If your penalty is less than their sins, it's your gain. If more, they exact it.
The man withdrew, weeping and wailing.
"Do you not read the Book of Allah ﷻ?"
"We shall set up just scales on the Day of Resurrection."
"No soul will be wronged at all, even by the weight of a mustard seed."
"By Allah ﷻ, Messenger of Allah ﷺ, parting is best for me and them."
"I call you to witness: they are all free."
Narrated by al-Tirmidhi and authenticated by al-Albani.
Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (RA) narrated this from Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
"Believers will be saved from the Fire once they cross the bridge."
They are held.
"On a bridge between Paradise and Hell, they will settle their worldly wrongs."
"Then, once purified and refined, they will enter Paradise."
"I swear by Him in Whose Hand is Muhammad's soul."
"Each will know his place in Paradise better than he knew his home on earth."
Recorded by al-Bukhari in the Sahih.
It is, servants of Allah ﷻ, the day of immense forgiveness.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said.
"Some Muslims will come on Judgment Day with sins like mountains."
Allah forgives them.
Narrated by Muslim in Sahih Muslim.
It is, O servants of Allah ﷻ, a day when Allah ﷻ will be angrier than ever.
It is a day, O servants of Allah ﷻ, when believers get light by their deeds.
That Day, you'll see believing men and women, their light ahead and right.
Your good news today: gardens with rivers beneath, there forever. Supreme triumph.
Allah ﷻ will not disgrace His Prophet or believers.
They say, "Our Lord, complete our light for us. Forgive us. You are all-powerful."
Their light runs ahead of them and on their right.
He ﷺ said: Allah gives them light.
Each according to his deeds.
Some will have light like a mountain moving before them.
Others will have less than that.
One will have light like a palm tree in his right hand.
Others will have less than that.
One man's light will be only on his big toe.
It will shine one moment and go out the next.
When it shines, he steps forward and walks.
When it goes out, he stands still.
Reported by al-Tabarani and authenticated by al-Albani.
It is a tremendous Day.
The believer has every right to fear it and guard against it
One may ask this question.
"How do I guard myself against that Day when I must inevitably meet it?"
You will surely meet it.
But guarding yourself against it is by what you send forth
by what you send forth, and among that are faith and Tawhid.
There is nothing greater than Tawhid with which to guard yourself against that Day.
For the people of Tawhid will have security when they meet Allah ﷻ:
Those who believe.
They do not mix faith with wrong. They will have security.
Allah ﷻ says:
How will you guard yourselves if you disbelieve?
That Day will turn children gray and split the sky.
His promise will be fulfilled.
One safeguard for that Day is righteous deeds.
They must be sincere to Allah.
They must follow the Messenger ﷺ.
Allah ﷻ says:
In houses Allah ordered raised.
He is glorified there, morning and evening.
These are men whom neither trade nor sale keeps from Allah's remembrance.
They keep up prayer and give zakah.
They fear a Day when hearts and eyes will be overturned.
So Allah rewards them for their best deeds.
He increases them from His bounty.
Allah provides for whom He wills without measure.
And Allah ﷻ says:
"They fulfill vows and fear a Day whose evil will spread far and wide
and they give food, despite loving it, to the needy, the orphan, and the captive."
"We feed you only for the sake of Allah ﷻ.
We seek from you neither reward nor thanks."
"We fear from our Lord a grim, severe Day."
So Allah saved them from that Day's evil and gave them radiance and joy.
And rewarded them for their patience with Paradise and silk.
And Allah ﷻ says: They keep asking when Judgment Day is.
It is the Day when they are tried in the Fire.
"Taste your punishment. This is what you used to seek to hasten."
The God-fearing will be in gardens and springs, taking their Lord's gifts.
Before that, they were doers of good.
They slept but little of the night, and at dawn they sought forgiveness.
And in their wealth was a due share for the beggar and the deprived.
And Allah ﷻ says: Those promised by Us the best will be kept far from it.
They will not hear its hiss, and live forever in whatever they desire.
The greatest terror will not grieve them, and the angels will welcome them.
"This is the Day you were promised."
Indeed, the friends of Allah have no fear, nor will they grieve—
those who believe and are God-fearing.
Good deeds guard you against that Day.
They also guard you against what it holds and make you among the secure.
Among the greatest is being one who prays, eager to walk to mosques at night.
Be keen to offer Friday prayer with proper etiquette, on time, in full.
Standing guard and martyrdom for Allah ﷻ are protection on that Day.
What protects you today will protect you on that Day. I end with this.
Do not be deceived by this world.
O servant of Allah ﷻ.
If you would guard against that Day, let not this world deceive you.
Do not let this world distract you from the Hereafter.
Do not be among those deceived by this world.
They worked for this world, worked for it, and forgot the Hereafter.
Allah ﷻ says: "O mankind, fear your Lord."
"Fear a Day when no father will avail his child at all."
"Nor will any child avail his father in the least."
"Indeed, the promise of Allah ﷻ is true."
"So do not let worldly life deceive you, nor let Satan deceive you about Allah ﷻ."
"Every soul shall taste death. You will be paid in full on Judgment Day."
"Whoever is kept from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has triumphed."
"The life of this world is only the enjoyment of delusion."
Servants of Allah ﷻ. Servants of Allah ﷻ.
The greatest gift granted in this life is fear of one's Lord, the Exalted.
Enduring bliss and safety on that Day go to those who fear and know their Lord.
He knew his Lord through His names, attributes, and signs.
So he stood in awe of his Lord and magnified Him.
Fear of Allah drove him to do more good and shun what is forbidden.
If weakness made him slip, fear of Allah brought him back to Allah.
He returned to Him in repentance, Glorified and Exalted.
That is for the one who fears his Lord.
Our Lord has decreed He will not
grant His servant two safeties or two fears.
Whoever fears Allah here will be safe.
Allah will make him safe on the Day of Resurrection.
Whoever feels safe from Allah here will face fear.
Allah will fill him with fear on the Day of Resurrection.
So fear Allah, O servants of Allah.
And fear a Day when you will return to Allah.
I ask Allah by His Most Beautiful Names.
I ask Him by His Exalted Attributes.
May He let us hear the word and follow the best of it.
I ask Allah to make us among them.
May He revive our hearts with the Sunnah and the Quran.

O Allah ﷻ. Our Lord, O Ever-Living, O Sustainer.
O Originator of the heavens and earth, Lord of Majesty and Honor.
We are weak, sinful transgressors, confessing sins that reach the clouds.
We gathered in one of Your houses.
We offered an obligatory prayer and then a voluntary one.
Then we sat for this reminder, hoping for mercy and fearing punishment.
We fear Your punishment and seek Your pardon.
O Allah, forgive us all, each and every one of us.
O Allah, forgive us, our parents, our spouses, and our families.
Forgive our children, loved ones, and Muslim men and women.
Lord of the worlds. O Allah ﷻ, You know us better than ourselves.

Accept the obedience of those among us who are steadfast.
Keep them firm upon it and increase them in Your bounty.
If You know any of us persist in sin, then make them hate it.
Set them far from it, as far as east is from west. Lord of the worlds.
O Allah, our Lord, O Ever-Living, O Sustainer.
Originator of the heavens and the earth, Possessor of Majesty and Honor.
O Allah, we ask You.
You gathered us in this mosque as brothers, face to face.
So gather us in the Highest Firdaws as brothers on couches, face to face.
O Allah, we ask You.
You gathered us in this mosque as brothers, side by side.
So gather us in the Highest Firdaws as brothers on couches, face to face.
