Essentials of a Successful Friendship

What are the essentials of a successful friendship?

And what must those in brotherhood do for their good bond to endure?

Among Allah's greatest blessings upon man is brotherhood for Allah's sake.

And the righteous predecessors were ever keen.

for brotherhood for Allah's sake and for making it last.

A major topic.

And the most important foundations are.

That brotherhood be for Allah ﷻ's sake and that it be for Allah ﷻ alone.

Whatever is for Allah ﷻ lasts and endures.

What is for other than Allah falls apart.

So we should ensure our brotherhood is for Allah's sake alone.

And among its qualities is that you choose a friend well.

One who adheres to the Book and Sunnah and calls you to uprightness.

And warns you against desires and doubts.

For there is no good in a friend who calls you to desires, or in a friend.

who casts doubts into your heart.

Rather, avoid these two: do not sit with them, and do not befriend them.

Rather, flee from them as you would from a lion.

So if your friendship is for Allah ﷻ and for His sake, and you seek one.

one who draws you near to Allah.

and keeps you away from disobedience to Allah.

and joins you in adhering to the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

then this is the successful friendship.

successful, beneficial, enduring, which continues in this world.

and benefits, and continues in the Hereafter. Allah knows best.
