Honoring Food Is Part of Gratitude

Part of gratitude for blessings is respecting food.
Honoring food and not wasting it or throwing it away.
If only a little is eaten of it, the rest is thrown in the trash.
The rest is thrown in the trash.
At big banquets, only a little is eaten, and the rest goes in the trash.
This is ingratitude for blessings. I ask Allah ﷻ for well-being.
From ingratitude for blessings, whose punishment we fear.
The Prophet ﷺ says.
"If a morsel of food falls from one of you, let him pick it up."
"Let him pick it up, wipe off whatever dirt is on it, and eat it."
That is one morsel. So what then?
What about all that food from huge banquets, dumped and strewn in the trash?
Then let him eat it.
The Prophet ﷺ saw a piece of fruit on the road and took it in his noble hand.
And he said, “Were I not afraid that it might be zakat, I'd eat it.”
But he lifted it from the road; he did not leave it there.
What kept him from eating it was that it might be zakat.
for Allah has forbidden zakat to Muhammad and his family.
This is valuing the blessing, honoring it and not wasting it.
So let that be a lesson and an admonition for us.
O servants of Allah. Let us fear lest it befall us.
What struck those around us: rifts, division, poverty, and want.
And hardship of living and hardship of life.
