There are those who break away from obedience in this matter.

0:06

and withdraw obedience from the ruler under the influence of imported ideas.

0:12

Is there any guidance on this matter?

0:16

Among the foundations of Muslim creed is adhering to the community.

0:24

and listening and obeying the ruler.

0:30

When the Prophet ﷺ gave them a powerful admonition.

0:37

hearts trembled and eyes wept. They said.

0:40

O Messenger of Allah, it is like a farewell sermon, so advise us.

0:46

He said, "I counsel you to fear Allah."

0:49

"and hear and obey, even if a slave is made your leader."

0:55

"For whoever among you lives will see much disagreement."

1:02

So at division and discord, we keep to the community and its imam.

1:12

And the Prophet ﷺ says.

1:15

"Keep to the community, for Allah's hand is over the community."

1:20

"Whoever breaks away breaks away into the Fire."

1:24

The Prophet ﷺ said.

1:25

"Whoever leaves the community by a handspan.

1:29

has cast off the yoke of Islam from his neck."

1:35

Meaning, he broke away from the community.

1:38

He left the community and exposed himself to danger and ruin.

1:46

So one must remain with the community and hear and obey the ruler.

1:54

And patience is essential. Whatever may befall us.

2:01

For patience with hardship is better than division.

2:08

And breaking the bond of obedience and splitting the community.

2:14

Then the Prophet ﷺ told Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman.

2:20

About the trials that would come at the end of time.

2:25

He said, "What do you command me to do if I live to see that?"

2:30

He said, "Stay with the Muslim community and its imam."

2:35

He said, "What if they have no community or imam?"

2:38

He said, "Then keep away from all those sects."

2:42

"Even if you must bite a tree root till death comes to you in that state."

2:49

So keeping to the community is salvation.

2:52

"And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not be divided."

2:57

"And remember Allah's favor upon you."

3:00

"When you were enemies and He brought your hearts together."

3:04

"And by His favor you became brothers."

3:09

"And you were on the edge of a pit of the Fire, and He saved you from it."

3:14

"Thus does Allah make clear to you His verses so that you may be guided."

3:20

This is the blessing we mentioned earlier.

3:26

Part of that blessing is unity among the Muslims.

3:31

And that there be someone to oversee their affairs.

3:37

And organize their affairs, and protect their security and stability.

3:44

This is one of the greatest blessings. Yes.

3:46

Thanks to Allah.
