What Many Overlook About Seeking Forgiveness

The messengers agreed on four matters to which they called their peoples.

In the Quran, in more than one surah known to you, for emphasis and reminder.

Calling to tawhid and no shirk, and following the messenger sent.

Having taqwa of Allah ﷻ in every deed, and constantly seeking forgiveness.

These four came at the start.

of Surah Hud, and in Surah Ash-Shu'ara, Surah Al-A'raf, and many other surahs.

Surah Nuh (AS). Alif-Lam-Ra.

Surah Hud.

A Book: its verses perfected, then detailed by One Wise, All-Aware.

Worship none but Allah ﷻ. I am to you from Him a warner and bearer of glad news.

And seek your Lord's forgiveness.

The verses: tawhid, obeying the messenger, taqwa of Allah ﷻ, forgiveness.

The messengers agreed on these four.

We mention Allah ﷻ and His Messenger.

And taqwa. But we forget seeking forgiveness.

Yet it is the most important. The most important is seeking forgiveness.

It is the main thing to emphasize, because people are heedless.

Seeking forgiveness, seeking forgiveness, but it must be frequent.

You yourself must train yourself to seek forgiveness often.

Allah SWT gives relief from every worry, a way out of every distress, with barakah.

Teach people to seek forgiveness.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ sought

forgiveness often and taught the Companions:

Seeking forgiveness! Seeking forgiveness!
