Concluding Gatherings of Islamic Knowledge with Supplication

Many of the scholars have mentioned,

including Ibn Sam'an in 'Adab al-Imla' wa al-Istimla',

and many of those who wrote on this topic,

that it is prescribed and recommended at the conclusion of knowledge sessions

to conclude them with supplication,

because one of the reasons for supplication being answered

is that it follows an act of obedience.

Among the best acts of obedience is gathering in obedience to Allah ﷻ,

studying His Book and His Sharia, and what Allah ﷻ has legislated for His servants.

So I ask Allah the Almighty, Lord of the Noble Throne,

to grant us all beneficial knowledge and righteous deeds,

and to guide us with His guidance,

and to forgive us, our parents, and the Muslim men and women.

And I ask Him, Glorified and Exalted, to have mercy on our weakness,

to mend our brokenness,

and to protect us from the disgrace of this world and the punishment of the Hereafter.

And I ask Him, Glorified is He, to grant us the intercession of His Prophet ﷺ.

And I ask Him to grant us the companionship of His Prophet ﷺ in Paradise,

and that Allah ﷻ blesses us with looking at Him, Majestic and Exalted,

without harmful adversity or misleading trial.

O Allah, grant us beneficial knowledge and a humble heart,

righteous deeds, and tearful eyes.

O Allah, help us remember You, thank You, and worship You well.

O Allah, guide our leaders to all good, and protect our land from every evil.

May Allah's peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, his family, and all his companions.
